Onigawara

Onigawara

In Tokyo, Japan.

At the Zojo-ji Temple.

Atop one of the shrines at one of the most well-known temples in Tokyo. I love the craftsmanship that went into the beautiful rooftop, and the care evident in its upkeep. I also think it’s interesting to see a gargoyle icon (onigawara) here, just like on huge cathedrals, protecting the building from evil spirits.

It’s always to good to know someone (or something) has your back.
