In New Orleans, Louisiana.
This is not some thicket in a rain forest. This is a natural canopy in the courtyard of the Court of Two Sisters, a classic French Quarter restaurant. It was such a thick one that it was actually raining somewhat hard when I took this picture and we didn’t get wet.
It was so thick that this balloon couldn’t find its way through to keep rising through the sky. I kind of felt sorry for the little orange thing, seeing it get stuck just trying to do what it does.
So, on one hand this canopy provided a nice bit of shade and shelter through a hot, rainy moment. But on the other hand, it was a barrier and obstacle for raindrops trying to moisten the ground and a balloon trying to ascend towards the sun.
How do you know when your attempts to help or protect someone or something are actually hindering or blocking something else?
