In Annapolis, Maryland.
On the campus of the US Naval Academy. There’s a pretty good exhibit at Mahan Hall on campus, which spotlights the role of the navy during the War of 1812. There were a lot of swords on display and their gilded hilt designs were remarkable.
The Academy has a lot of pretty cool buildings, history, and scenery along the gorgeous Chesapeake Bay and Severn River. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon just walking around and taking in all of the interesting spots here and there. One of those nice little free gems to do not far at all from Washington, DC.
