In St. George’s, Grenada.
At the inner harbor in Grenada’s capital city. The houses dotting the hillsides, fishing boats in the harbor, and bright blue waters of the Caribbean make it easy to transform a photo of landscape to look like a painting. A pretty place.
In 1983, the US invaded Grenada. Here are two totally different takes on the motivations and outcomes of that action:
- A PBS article from The American Experience series, which seems to romanticize and glorify the occupation.
- An article by Stephen Zunes for the Global Policy Forum, on the 20th anniversary of the invasion, which seems to portray the action as being based on unfounded rationale and excuses.
Same story, different takes…how do you decide the truth?
