At the Forte de Santo Antonio da Barra (St Anthony’s Fort in Barra). A couple takes in the view of All Saints Bay in Salvador, perched atop an historic and picturesque 16th-century fort that also houses a lighthouse and nautical museum.

The kind of place you want to check out is a city that can turn History’s sigh into a smile by turning those ruins into relics to be explored, especially relics from which to enjoy some pretty nice landscapes.
