In an earlier post, I talk about “looking up.” In that case, it was to see what’s up there while you’re walking around to find interesting architectural coolness. But other times, we need to look up to see what’s not visible…inspirational reminders that the larger forces at play should keep us humble and grounded when we seem to lose our sense of reason. Indeed, one of the many purposes of church steeples is to make us do so.
