The famous Water Tower is not nearly as tall as the building behind it. It’s also not nearly as close to it as it seems.
As in art and photography, so it is in life. So much of what you experience depends greatly on your perspective and angle of vision. They make some things way feel way bigger than they actually are.
Then again, the Water Tower is the only public building that survived the great fire of 1871. And, though it was built in 1869, apparently it’s only undergone two renovations. So, maybe it really is bigger than it seems.
