A view looking up the main tower of the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, site of the June 2015 murder of 9 Black Bible study group members. My wife and I last visited Charleston in August of 2012 and were humbled by the simple grandeur of this magnificent and important building. It’s hard to imagine the unspeakable horror that took place there, so sad to think of its majesty being spoiled by despicable evil at the hands of one coward. Here’s hoping the families and the communities of those who senselessly lost their lives find solace and strength by looking up to God and trusting His plan, as unfathomable as it might be, and moving on to peace and making those Black lives matter.
