“The 39 Steps” is an early Hitchcock classic movie (released in 1935, though it was his 18th movie). When I saw this photo, I immediately thought to call it 39 Steps, in honor of that film, and because the black-and-white harkens to that early era of moviemaking.
Then I thought, “I wonder how many steps there are in this shot,” and so I counted.
Guess what?
39 steps.
I wonder if they planned that.
