In Rio de Janiero, Brasil
The marvelous Christ the Redeemer statue atop Corcovado Mountain in Rio.
The statue is massive, at 125 feet tall, 635 metric tons at the peak of a 2,300 foot mountain. There’s a small chapel at its base and breathtaking views of the gleaming city and the beautiful bay it sits on.
As big and inspiring as it is, it pales in comparison to the enormity of Christ’s example for humanity. On Christmas Day, let’s remember to be grateful for the life of love, kindness, forgiveness, charity, and sacrifice he led, for us to follow. Do your best to live up to that. On Christmas and every day.
