On Maui, Hawaiian Islands
This little slice of paradise is one of many waterfall-viewing stops along the road to Hana. This is the Upper Waikani Falls flowing serenely into a small pool surrounded by a super lush landscape. “Wai” translates to water in English and “kani” to rabbit. Thinking of a waterfall as a water rabbit is intriguing.
The falls are also known as “Three Bears,” and it’s easy to see why. While there’d probably be no argument over which would be considered “Baby Bear,” I can imagine differing viewpoints on which might be Mama Bear or Papa Bear, or perhaps if there are two Mamas or two Papas.
